A US political commentator has said the Boko Haram militant group in Nigeria has been created by the US, Press TV reported yesterday.
“Boko Haram is a CIA creation. It has been created by intelligence operatives, supported and armed by factions that are connected to the United States through Saudi Arabia,” said Keith Harmon Snow, in an interview with Press TV.
The analyst alledged that Washington has been attempting to destabilize Nigeria through propping up the Boko Haram militant group in recent years.
He further stressed that the Pentagon has been directly contributing to the destabilization of the most populous African nation by supporting the militant group.
The United States and its allies are trying to use the militancy in Nigeria as a pretext for the deployment of US troops to the African country, the analyst said.
Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for a number of deadly shooting attacks and bombings mainly in northeastern Nigeria in recent years.
Reacting to the story on Press TV website, a commentator, who identified himself only as Williams said said that explains why Nigerian government is doing little about it, when their neighbor, Chad has allegedly done more to tackle Boko Haram.
“US …in the Middle-East, Asia, Europe and now Africa (North and West); but it is obvious that they will be buried with burden of too many loads sooner rather than later because they have no real friends in all of this regions. Nigeria must be ready to take on the insurgents on their own or they risk permanent destabilisation of the country, because such groups as Biafra may spring up,” William said.
All efforts to get the reaction of the US Embassy failed as their officials failed to respond to calls and text messages sent to them.
