their split was reportedly fueled by the misunderstanding over the multi-million naira Lekki mansion she acquired recently.<br />

jointly owned by the two of them being a couple.She refused ,prompting 
him to call it quits and relocate to Ghana where he eventually found a 
new love whom he is perfecting plans to wed soon.When asked to confirm

 break-up of my marriage. And I am not going to say anything about it.

How to Make First Class in any Nigerian University

The essence of furthering our education into higher institution level is to acquire more knowledge and to be ahead of an average or no learned individual.<br /><br />When we are offered admission into higher institution, the first thing that comes to our mind is “being the best”, but often times we discover that most people fail to realize that because their thought weren’t acted upon.<br />Although it is through that the method of assuming academic success is not applicable to everybody, however, there are specific steps to follow in other to guarantee academic success during your stay in the university notwithstanding the department or course you are into.<br /><br />1: Be Determined:<br /><br />Determination is the quality of being determined or firmness of a purpose. Although there are different reason while people enroll into tertiary institution, but be it as it may those different reason are all pointing towards one direction that is “succeeding in a career”, as a student you have to be self determined to excel in the pursuit of academic excellence.<br /><br />2: Attend Classes:<br /><br />One of the most important point of attaining academic excellence is attending classes. Attending classes will not only discipline you but will also keep your focus on the pursuit of your academic success.<br /><br />When one is physical present in a lecture, there will be a proper understanding of the topic being treated, and also if you are the type that learn more through listening you need to attend classes, it will go a long way to help you pass your courses.<br /><br />Attending class will also provide you with information about assignments, test, quizzes and exams straight from your lecturer’s mouth. So I advise that students should always attend class.<br /><br />3: Source for Materials:<br /><br />As a student you are to source for materials for your courses, This material guides you in the courses offered. Material such as hand books, past question papers, e-books e.t.c are suppose to be sourced for on-time, to enable the student to read it on-time, solve questions and ask for help from the lecturer or from other student if need arises.<br /><br />4: Be Friend with Like Minds:<br /><br />There is this adage that says; Show me your friend, and I will tell you who you are and what will become of you. In high institutions, the people you spend most of your time with contribute greatly to your academic performance. Accumulating much friends that would not contribute positively to your academics is of no use, rather be interested in friends that share same vision with you.<br /><br />Often times, school might be so demanding that you feel like given up, but like minded fiends are always there to remind you of your thought towards positive academic excellence. In conclusion to this point, I would say that two good head is better than bunch of naughty ones.<br /><br />5: Setup Discussion Class:<br /><br />The word “discuss” simply means talking or writing down your view or idea of a particular topic or point raised. Whereas discussion involves sharing views and ideas among people or between two person.<br />Settings up a discussion class has to do with bringing together two or more people to form a group, whose aim is to share idea and thought base on their subject matter.<br /><br />This should ensue between people who have same objectives i.e they are from same class (Course mate). This enable them gain knowledge from one another and also clear some doubt of what they never understood when being taught in class.<br />In making this group, it is important to look for those who have intense knowledge, so you can gain from them as well as they gain from you.<br /><br />And it requires proper preparation before the discussion class, in order not to make it look as though you are unserious and you have nothing to contribute. Remember proper preparation prevent poor performance. The more you learn you get wider knowledge.<br /><br />6: Spend Money and Time Wisely:<br /><br />Most people spend their time and resources for things that are irrelevant. Invest in your academics by buying books and reading them, paying for tutorials and attending them, this point is mostly for freshers(new students). If you know there are some courses you are finding difficult look for tutorials that handle those courses and enroll.<br /><br />it is quite hard to know the brilliant once in first years because everyone is trying to organize himself/herself, so finding a classmate that might likely to put you through in courses you do not really understand will be taxing, so the best thing to do as a fresher is either to have a friend from a class above yours that can give you ideas on how to go about it and Putting your ears on ground concerning organized tutorials from experts will also go a long way in helping you.<br /><br />7: Feed Well:<br /><br />I know this point may sound funny, but it should be given a proper consideration. when you feed well you read more and understand much. Is as simple as that.<br /><br />8: Be Devoted to God:<br /><br />what more can I say; if not to fear God and keeps his commandments. The fact that you are chasing a first class CGP shouldn’t make you to think less of God. Statistic has shown that the people with the highest academic excellence are those that are devoted to God.<br />Success as you put them into practice.

This view is, however, far from reality.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">In fact, before the harvest of scholastic  successes, the youngster had witnessed some rough edges of academic  frustration. Particularly, at her primary and secondary school levels,  she was not just an average pupil, she also experienced unpleasant  academic moments. For instance, she wrote the Senior Secondary  Certificate Examination conducted by the West African Examinations  Council and the National Examinations Council four times. “I have a piece of information for you. Do you know that I  wrote the SSCE on four different occasions? The first was the private  candidate November/December WASSCE; then my WAEC, NECO and another  Nov/Dec examination. I did these examinations then because I had problem  with Mathematics.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">“You see, I realised at an early stage in  my academic pursuit that examination malpractice is not a road to  success. The farthest I can remember engaging in any examination  malpractice was in my Junior Secondary School 1 class. Further, during  my WAEC preparation, I was encouraged by the words of my school  principal, Mrs. Oloriade, that it is better to fail honourably than to  cheat. These words helped me to keep tight to my integrity in my exams.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;">But what spurred her to continue with her  education in spite of this initial hiccup? </div><div style="text-align: justify;">“I attended Bernice and Dominican Nursery  and Primary School, Oshodi, Lagos. I was not academically fantastic  then, but I was responsible and mature. This resulted in my being made  the school head girl. I was an average student in my Junior Secondary  School class but as I went further into the senior class, I drew a lot  of inspiration from the academic excellence of my twin sister,  Gabriella. She made me to put in more efforts and I thus studied for  more hours.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img alt="" class="fbPhotoImage img" id="fbPhotoImage" src="https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash2/t1.0-9/564593_108996869246972_934338817_n.jpg" /> </div><b></b><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Interestingly, Gabriella, who studied  Industrial Chemistry at the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, also  obtained a first class. Her convocation holds on June 27, 2014.</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">On the secret of her success in the  university, Daniella notes that a challenge from one of her male  colleagues on campus further propelled her to seek greater academic  glory.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">She adds, “A particular event occurred in  my first year that kept me on my toes throughout my stay in the  university. After the first semester result was released, a guy walked  up to me and bluntly told me that I was not going to graduate with a  first class. I was frightened at his response to my first year success.  However, I was determined that the grade I had (4.6) then would be the  very least I would ever have.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Was her stay in the university all about  books and nothing more? Was she unsociable? Not at all, she replies, “I  had an active social life on campus. During my stay in school, I served  in several offices that have added to my training and experience as a  leader. I was the Vice-President of the Public Administration Students’  Association. I was a pioneer member of a voluntary club on campus  (Trendz Club). This club has the aim of redefining the negative trends  on campus and it helps to raise funds for the less-privileged students. I  later served as the treasurer of the club. I was a member of the  Redeemed Christian Fellowship, where I served as the treasurer. I was  also a chorister on campus. In all, my experience in the university was  demanding, challenging and exciting.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Asked whether she would have obtained the same result in a public university, she again responds in the affirmative.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">She notes with a whiff of excitement,  “Most people believe that studying in a private university offers a  smooth ride to success, but I would like to disabuse their minds in this  regard because the same values of determination, luck and courage you  need to survive in a public university are the same you will need to  survive in any environment. Hence, I believe that I would not have  performed any lesser if I had studied in a public university.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;">“There were lots of distractions for a  young girl like me. These include going to parties, the temptation to  have all the luxuries that other girls had and devoting time to movies  instead of on my studies. However, there is a saying that ‘The fear of  God is the beginning of wisdom’. These words kept me on track and I  never lost my way,” the young lady, who sees the former Vice-President  of the World Bank and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as  her role model, adds.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">At the ceremony, of the 1, 544 students  awarded first degrees, 44 of them obtained first class while 177 others  passed out from the institution’s School of Postgraduate School.  Fifty-nine of them obtained doctorate degrees.</div>

ASUP Strike: MASSOB Demands Re-Opening Of Polytechnics, COEs This Month (June 2014)

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has demanded an immediate re-opening of polytechnics and colleges of education closed because of the strike by academic staff. -<br /><br />In a statement by its National Director of Information, Mr. Uchenna Madu, MASSOB condemned what it called the insensitivity and callousness of Nigeria’s Federal Government in handling the strike, which has been on for more than eight months.<br /><br />Members of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and College of Education Academic Staff Union had been on strike since September and December 2013 respectively.<br /><br />Madu said, “The closures of the polytechnics and colleges of education have grossly affected the academic and moral growth of their students. 9 Reasons Why Nigerian Students Fail JAMB

A 100 level Student of English Education at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK)<br /><br /><br />It is not an unknown fact that some Nigerian students after their JAMB examination will end up scoring zero over 400.<br /><br />Two years ago (2012) when I wrote my first JAMB examination, I had this feeling that I was going to smash the exam with a high grade like at least 350 over 400 but finally I found myself scoring 192 over 400. But I thanked Almighty God for making me among the lucky candidates that saw their results. Some of my colleagues didn’t even see their results and others scored 150 over 400 while others were even below that. So, from experience I will say nine of the reasons why we fail JAMB in this country are:<br /><br />1: Fear: According to H.P. Lovecraft, Supernatural Horror in Literature: “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” Honestly I was afraid then, the fear of JAMB made me think I was going into a do or die affair. I could also remember that the very day of the examination it took me about 10 minutes before I could even start shading some answers all because of fear of what the outcome of the exam might be. So I believe fear contributed to my failure. So my fellow students be bold, courageous and never think of failure in your JAMB examination. JAMB is just like any normal examination, even if very tricky.<br /><br />2. JAMB syllabus: It might sound funny but believe me, JAMB follows some syllabus topics in setting their examination questions. My advice here is that you should adhere to JAMB syllabus because that is where their questions are coming from.<br /><br />3. Power of JAMB past questions: My dear colleagues never neglect the power of past question papers. They reveal some tips and sample questions on what you will be facing in your examination. After the examination that day, some of my friends that wrote theirs about four years ago, told me that about 20 questions each came out from JAMB past questions. I was shocked but no second chance for an amendment.<br /><br />4. Miracle centre believe it or not: This is an open confession, the fear of failing made me to get some A,B,C,D and E from a lady sitting beside me that very day. She registered in a miracle centre. I am very sure my score would have been better than 192 if I had not copied from that girl. After the examination, she showed me the answer her boyfriend sent to her but to my greatest surprise the English language paper type is A but mine is B. Unfortunately to me I carried my Use of English over, so BE CAREFUL.<br /><br />5: Invigilators of nowadays: Invigilators in some centres usually frustrate students to pay or there will be no communication inside the examination hall. For instance I can remember that day, an invigilator was said to have asked to be paid N2,500 by each candidate to allow them share and communicate with each other but if you fail to pay automatically you will become No 1 Suspect in the hall. They will try anything possible to make you fail unless God saves you.<br /><br />6: Late coming: Yes, I will advice you all to be at your centre one hour before the examination starts. Try as much as you can to be the first student at your centre. Coming late to any examination will make you feel that you have lost it all; not only lost but you will be disorganised.<br /><br />7. Breakfast: Yes, we know that a hungry man is an angry man. Before leaving in the morning please take something; at least one cup of coffee or tea with bread will be nice to hold you. Sometimes, your exam will even start later than planned.<br /><br />8. Long distance: The possibility of a student living in Nasarawa State (Doma) to meet up with an examination that will start around 9.00am in the FCT, Abuja, is just 40/100 because anything can happen. Some students will tell you that they will meet up but along the line, they will be held up along the way. The question is: What if the car breaks down on the way? (I don’t pray for such). What if you don’t locate your centre before the exam starts? The only possible solution for this is just to be in the state/local/town/village where your centre is located a day before the examination date.<br /><br />9. JAMB paper type: Many students choose to change their JAMB paper during the examination. This is against the law so beware. But let’s assume your JAMB Use of English paper type is TYPE A while the EXPO you have is B do not copy it because they are of different type. Some students will quickly get EXPO from their colleagues without checking the paper type and they will copy it.</div>

Last two years when i wrote my first Jamb examination, i  had this feeling that i am going to smash the exam with a high grade  like at least 350 over 400 but finally i found myself scoring 179 over  400, poor me right i guess<br />But i thank Baba God for even making me see my score.  Some of my  colleagues didn,t even see any thing called grade talk more of scoring 0  over 400,  i will share some tipz and reason why i failed my  examination and also from survey why many students also failed ,<br /><b>Here are the 10 Reasons why Nigerian students fail Jamb: </b><br /><b>1: Fear </b><br />According to <b>H.P. After the examination , she showed me  the Answer her boyfriend sent to her but to my greatest surprised the my  English language paper TYPE was A but the one her boyfriend sent her  was TYPE C. unfortunately to me i carried my USE of English Over… So. <b>BE CAREFUL…..</b><br /><b>5: Invigilators </b><br />Nowadays.. invigilators  can frustrate students to the extend of  asking them to pay or there will be NO communication inside the  examination hall. For instance i could remember that day, one  invigilator asked us to pay #2,500 each to allow us share and  communicate with each other BUT if you fail to pay automatically you  will become NO 1 Suspect in the hall. Do not use because  you are going to write Jamb examination you will starve yourself . Sometimes  , your  exam will even start late then planned.before organizing hall and all  that your will be hungry unless some hawkers enter into your centre…<br /><b>8: Long Distance</b><br />The possibility of a student living in Enugu to meet up with an  examination that will start around 9.00am in Ebonyi state is just 40/100  because anything can happen. Last year i remembered when Jamb scrapping was  trending all over the internet but within a matter of 60 days the issue  of scrapping Jamb out of Nigeria educational body failed.<br /> We never care to know what happened and what is happening. As a  student i believe that after reading this article, Million of Students  out there will believe and see reasons why we should n,t allow the so  called Jamb to dis-organize our future.<br /> The main reason i titled  this article<em><strong> ” Jamb is here for Profit NOT for Development”</strong></em> is because i have been trying to study and know the mission of<a href="http://www.myedu.com.ng/jambutme/" target="_blank"> Jamb in Nigeria</a> education system  but i have not find any and i am here to ask my  fellow students if any of you knows the current mission of Jamb in  Nigeria, to organize or to dis-organize?<br /> <span style="color: #333333;"><strong>Jamb Registration Fees should be #1500 NOT #4500</strong></span><br /> It all started with a Registration form fees of #4,500 which marks  the beginning of the our unprofitable investment  with jamb. I believe  with if Nigeria education system is as good as nothing .Jamb  e-registration card by now would not cost more than #1500 MTN recharge  card  per student.<br /> From 2014 Jamb registration statistic about  1.6 Million students  registered for jamb 2014 examination which if we calculate the money  involved should  be around <em><strong>7.2 Billion  Naira ( correct the figure if it i wrong) </strong></em> and do not call me an<em><strong> Igbo man </strong></em><i>because</i> i might not be one.<br /> I am not against jamb making money because they need some equipment  to facilitate  the examination but the truth of the matter is that the  facilities needed for the examination will not be find and i kept  wondering where and who is managing all this funds.Just imagine if Jamb  registration fee is #1500, Calculate the money and tell me.<br /> <span style="color: #333333;"><strong>Jamb Result Checking Should be Free NOT #1500</strong></span><br /> This reminds me of what happened the day <a href="http://www.myedu.com.ng/checking-jamb-result-2014-drop-reg-number/" target="_blank">Jamb released 2014 result</a>.  i am 100% sure that the management will reduce her workers salaries  considering the fact that thousand of students checked their<em><strong> result Free of charge</strong></em> without paying a damn. Just within 24hrs of the release.<br /> Jamb blocked her Mobile apps  and free online result checking which  was totally free checking gateway . Why all this money making tricks for  God,sake. Should we pay with our last card before getting off with  Jamb.<br /> Now let do the mathematics again. Adding <em><strong>#1500 to #4500</strong> </em>will  result to six thousand Naira(6000). Jamb mission is still unknow. But  for me i think Jamb result checking should be totally free because i see  NO  reason why Jamb should charge extra 1500 just to check result .<br /> <span style="color: #333333;"><strong> Jamb Change of Course should be #<em>500</em> Not #1000</strong></span><br /> Yes, i support the idea of collecting some token from students for <a href="http://www.myedu.com.ng/jamb-change-of-course-and-insitutitions/" target="_blank">changing their course</a> after examination because that will mount extra work loads to jamb but  that shouldn,t be more than five hundred Naira ony(500). Now lets  calculate our profit again (6000+1000) = Seven thousand Naira (#7000).<br /> Now to round things up here, I am not not trying to paint jamb black  but i think we should do the right thing and amend those that need  amendments. Because our education system is really heading now-way.<br /> How many students got 200 and above in the just concluded 2014 jamb examination, about 47% or 47 students. Does it mean that all<a href="http://www.myedu.com.ng/5-student-businesses/" target="_blank"> Nigerian students</a> are dull to the CORE. Something is wring somewhere and we must act fast or allow jamb to continue to keep us in a dark shadow.<br /> Understanding that being a student especially in Nigeria could be a  very daunting task.
