<b>Nigeria’s vice-president elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in 
emphasizing the need for zero tolerance for corruption said wealthy 
Nigeria will be made to declare assets and reveal source of their wealth
 when Buhari’s government kicks in.</b><br />
<br />
Speaking on Friday while delivering the keynote address at the Abuja 
edition of The Platform, Osinbajo said the incoming administration would
 ensure zero tolerance for corruption by reforming the Justice 
system.Punch quotes him saying:<i> “We have always talked about zero 
tolerance for corruption but it is also important that people are made 
to understand that there will be consequence for corruption.</i><br />
<br />
<i>“What we have seen so far is that there is hardly any consequence
 and people simply get away with it and if you get away with it often, 
it sends a message to everyone that there is no problem, and we need to 
fix that whole thinking that there has to be a consequence for corrupt 
practices.</i><br />
<br />
Osinbajo says Nigerians must reveals how they come about their enormous wealths: <i>“People
 have to explain, for instance, if you are a public servant, that how 
come you have 50 houses. Somebody needs to ask you those questions and 
some of the reasons people get away with that is our criminal justice 
system.”</i><br />
<br />
He says for Nigerians to take corruption seriously Nigeria must reform the criminal justice system.<br />
<i>“Our criminal justice system needs to be fixed. The system is 
slow and it almost always ensures that people who have been charged with
 offenses would not be tried forever and after a while people forget 
that people are on trial.</i><br />
<br />
<i>“We have to fix that criminal justice system to ensure that 
criminal trials are speedy and that anyone who is guilty of an offense 
will be punished for that offense.</i><br />
<br />
<i>“The truth is that the system of protection, investigation and 
trial of people is wrong and the truth is that everybody gets away with 
criminality in Nigeria and I think there is a need for us to review the 
system such that it begins to work.”</i><br />
<br />
Osinbajo added that the Nigerian Police force would undergo some reforms in order to reduce corruption.<br />
<br />
Buhari and Osinbajo have repeatedly said their government will ensure
 that corruption at all levels of government and the Nigerian society 
will be reduced. They have promised to make any one guilty of corruption
 especially politicians face the full brunt of the law.<br />
<br />
Buhari meanwhile has previously stated that he will be forgiving of 
any politician who has corruption charges against him before he comes 
into power but will be less pleasing after he comes to power.<br />
<br />
Along with corruption, Buhari/Osinbajo have promised to fight 
unemployment, insecurity and revive the failing industries in the 
country.

Also known as <b>‘Mr Flag Man’</b> PA Micheal Taiwo 
Akinkunmi is the man who designed the Nigerian Flag in the year 1959 and
 was first hoisted in October 1st 1960.<br />

As a student at the Norwood Technical Coollege, London, where he 
studied Electrical Engineering, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi emerged winner of the
 National flag design contest, organized by the College.<br />
<br />
PA Taiwo who was never honoured for designing the Nigerian flag’, has
 been living in a very bad condition all these years. Many people even 
referred to him as ‘Hero without Honour’, until when President Goodluck 
Ebele Jonathan (Nigeria’s President) , conferred 313 people with 
national honours on Monday September 29th Designer of the Nigerian flag Taiwo Akinkunmi, was among the people 
conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the 
Federal Republic. In addition to this, President GEJ, directed the 
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim,
 to place Pa Akinkunmi on life salary.<br />

Speaking to news crew, PA Taiwo Akinkunmi who was represented by his son Akinwunmi Akinkunmi said:<br />
<i><b>“Baba is very happy. We thank President Jonathan for this
 gesture. We are indeed appreciative of this because you all know that 
Baba has been neglected in the past. I am sure that this honour will 
spur Nigerians to continue to contribute to the development of the 
country,’’</b></i><br />

‘Raising My Child Without A Father is Painful’ – Iyabo Ojo Speaks on Her Failed Marriage

<b>When asked about what she regret most about her past:</b><br />
She said: “One thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced. 
Where I come from I am the first daughter. I am from a royal family. It 
has never been on record that the first daughter will walk out of her 
matrimonial home.<br />

“But it is a matter of life and death otherwise I would have stayed 
back and make my marriage work. I tried to make it work but it takes two
 people to tango. That’s the only thing I regret, raising my child 
without a father. It’s a bit painful. But I have to live with it. It’s 
better that way than to expose my daughter to all sorts of domestic 
violence. It will definitely disorient her and affect her upbringing. 
She will be dis-functional. God knows the best. Maybe I should be more 
careful.”<br />

<b>On if she still believe in love:</b><br />
“I believe in love. Love is the reason for our existence. It’s really
 not enough if you want to get something done, you have to do away with 
that emotion and be real.”

A man who specialises in supplying fuel and food to terrorists was 
this morning nabbed in Daban Shata in the suburbs of Baga, Borno State.<br />

The military intelligence had been trailing him till he was 
eventually trapped in the early hours of Sunday. He is presently 
undergoing interrogation.<br />

In another development, troops on patrol yesterday located 260 
women and children in the outskirts of Chalawa village in Adamawa state 
where they had been held up while trying to escape from terrorists. They
 have now been conveyed back to their various communities in Madagali 
after undergoing the normal security profiling.<br />

Some of them disclosed that they had to abandon their homes to 
escape from the terrorists when Madagali came under their attack, while 
others were actually abducted and taken there. The terrorists were 
however sacked from the Madagali recently.<br />

A number of terrorists however died in an encounter with troops who
 caught up with them as they fled prior to the recovery of the women and
 children. Some of the terrorists still managed to escape with varying 
degrees of gunshot wounds. Others who were captured are now being

A machine gun, some rounds of ammunition, as well as some 
motorcycles and bicycles were also captured from the terrorists. A 
member of the vigilante group serving as guide to the troops was however

are methodically searching every aspect of the expansive terrain.</div>
