“Isa to sa mga pupil namin. His mother [passed] away last year due to ectopic pregnancy.
In a report by ABS-CBN, Blasico said that Mateo has one elder and younger brother and that he and his “kuya” takes turn in taking care of their “bunso”.
She added:
“Tatlo silang magkakapatid, puro lalaki. Yung isa Grade 5.”
May feeding program kasi every lunch sponsored by DepEd (Department of Education).”
The teacher said that she has been receiving calls from people who want to help the boy. However, she insisted that it would be better if people can give food, clothes, and school supplies for the kids rather than money, explaining that those are the most important needs of the family.
